Infinite Foods’ First Birthday: Successfully Sprouted and Growing Strong

Launched in October of 2018 as an African go-to-market platform for best-in-class plant-based food products, Infinite Foods proudly celebrated its first birthday last month.

With Michelle Adelman — founder of the impact investment firm Accite Holdings — at the helm, Infinite Foods has already established itself as a powerful, and exciting portal for the leading plant-based food brands to gain access the blossoming African consumer and tourism market.

“Shifting toward plant-based foods is one of the key solutions to solving food security, as well as promoting health and protecting the planet from climate change. By introducing great tasting and sustainable alternatives to animal-based foods like meat and dairy to Sub-Saharan Africa, we are enabling the people of the continent to take a giant leap forward in securing their future,” explains Adelman.

Representing the leading brands in the plant-based food movement, Infinite Foods is enabling African consumers to enjoy a head start at a pivotal point in the food industry. Infinite Foods’ strategy includes plans for commencing local ingredient-sourcing and production as market demand allows — further empowering and nourishing local communities.

Partner brands in the Infinite Foods stable have delighted customers and helped build the company a healthy foundation by its first birthday include Beyond Meat, Miyoko’s Butter, Nature & Moi cheeses, and Oatly milk — all of which are leading the global charge in changing consumer perceptions about the taste and acceptance of plant-based foods.

Essential support has also come from a long list of regional restaurants that have each incorporated Infinite Foods’ products into their menus with their own unique flair. A notable example is Lexi’s Healthy Eatery in Sandton, Rosebank and Modderfontein, the namesake of plant-based chef and creator Lexi Monzeglio, who said:

End of October, Doppio Zero began flipping the Beyond Burger and serving Beyond Sausages as Bangers and “Mash”. As of November, the Beyond Burger will make its way on the menu at Spur Steak Ranches and Rocomamas restaurants adding to the over 600 strong Infinite Foods’ product outlets in South Africa, Botswana and Mauritius.
