Why Plant-Based Protein?
Replacing animal protein with products made from plants benefits human health and our planet.
Research shows that eating a low-fat, plant-based diet could reverse heart disease, and lower the risk of Type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure. The American Cancer Society recommends eating a healthy diet for the prevention of cancer “with an emphasis on plant foods.”
Our Partner Brand's products are made from all-natural ingredients such as peas, beetroot, wheat, coconut oil, and potatoes. By choosing to eat these plant-based products, consumers can retain the good protein, and leave out the bad fat and cholesterol.
A plant-based diet also supports the environment and the conservation of our natural resources:
The way the world produces meat today is taking an enormous toll on our planet. According to researchers, animal agriculture uses 30% of all land, over 25% of all freshwater on earth, and creates as much greenhouse gas emissions as all of the world’s cars, trucks, trains, ships, and airplanes combined.
Compared to cows, the plant-based meat uses 95% less land, 74% less water, and creates 87% less greenhouse gas emissions.
Studies show that it takes about 8kgs of grain to produce 1kg of beef, 4kgs of grain to produce 1kg of pork, and about 2.5kgs of grain to produce 1kg of chicken. So, let’s face it, whether you like to eat animal products or not, the fact is: animals are just inefficient producers of protein! With African consumers increasing their protein consumption by 4% per annum, we need to find more efficient ways of delivering healthy protein to society.
We are dedicated to raising awareness of the environmental impact of animal-based protein and working with our partners to decrease dependency on animal protein.
We believe there is a better way to feed the planet. Our mission is to create consumer solutions that perfectly replace animal protein with plant protein. We are dedicated to improving human health, positively impacting climate change, conserving natural resources and respecting animal welfare.
Adopting a plant-based approach to your plate is the single most powerful and positively impactful choice you can make as a conscious, compassionate consumer. A choice that will help prevent and reverse disease; reduce your carbon footprint; and preserve the planet for our children and animal friends alike.
